In this game you test your knowledge of geometry playing pool. In this game you try to hit pool balls into the pockets and you can rack up more points for consecutive shots. Use different amounts of speed and different angles to score as many points as you can. You will get points deducted everytime you get the cue ball in the pocket. http://www.coolmath-games.com/0-pool-geometry-2/index.html

The math game that I found is one that asks you to find the values of variables as quickly as you can. You try to solve as many equations for X as you can in one minute. Although I have yet to see a problem repeat, basically all of them consist of the format: a number, multiplied, divided, plus, or minus, another number, equals x plus another number. I personally think it is an incredibly easy game as it just requires some simple mental math but it does call for the user know how to solve an algebraic equation. (And also some numbers can just simply be hard to multiply, BIG NUMBERS) This can be a good study tool if one needs work on their simple math and solving of equations for a variable. For the hardest level that it can be, you should set the "highest number" to 20. (The highest that they allow) Anyways, in the Major categories, I would give this game a: Difficulty--5 (Can vary depending on highest #), Level of Fun--7 (Challenge yourself to set a new record in your 1 minute) Mathematical Relevance--10 (Solving equations is HUGE) Creativity--3 (Just a new way to do a math problem.

Algebra versus Cockroaches is a math game involving slope-intercept form. First, choose your weapon. There is a rocket, laser gun, sprayer, or shoe. Then cockroaches come buzzing across your screen on a line. You have to give the slope and y-intercept of the line they make. If you do not say so in time, the cockroaches are victorious, but, if you accurately name the line, your weapon wipes out the cockroaches. This game is great for practicing coordinate graph skills. The only down side of it is that you have to go through a couple of easy levels before you can get to slope-intercept form. The first level is to find the y-intercept. The second level is the slope, and the third level is slope and y-intercept, and the fourth is the same as the third with increased difficulty. Overall it is a good game to review your slope skills. external image image.tiffhttp://hotmath.com/hotmath_help/games/kp/kp_hotmath_sound.swf

Play Pyramid Panic: WALK THIS WAY
Play Pyramid Panic: WALK THIS WAY
h's Pyramid Panic math game (http://www.mangahigh.com/en_us/games/pyramidpanic) offers potentially challenging geometry questions, and the thrill of using a laser to stun the monster from which you must evade. In this game you are depicted as a mummy with a semi-transparent line in front of you. The line has a number on it that functions as the question that you have to answer. The answers are multiple choice, so to answer the question you have to see what the number on the line in front of you is and match that number to the picture that is equivalent to it on the top of the screen, and then perform a simple drag and drop movement and drop the picture in front of the mummy. For example, the line in front of you may have the number three on it and the pictures on the top of the screen are: A) a circle with the radius measurement of seven; B) a right triangle with a hypotenuse measure of four; C) a circle with the diameter of six; D) an equilateral triangle with the sides measuring five. In this circumstance the correct answer would be C so you would drag the box with a circle that has a diameter of six down in front of your mummy and a bridge magically appears in front of you allowing your mummy to cross and temporarily escape the monster while you await the next question. The object of the game is to make it to the end of the trail before the pyramid monster eats you. The questions are based on the bridges that you have to build to escape the pyramid monster, hence the name Pyramid Panic. The geometry questions are usually about circles and triangles, which were perfect for chapter nine in our Pre-Algebra textbook that dealt largely with right triangle trigonometry. The only limit to this game is that it only benefits students with relatively little geometry exposure because the topic are not that complex. There are challenging questions in the higher levels of the game, but I would probably not recommend this game to a person who feels that geometry is one of their strong points in math.

Hi, my name is Andres Fernandez Del Castillo and the math game I found exercises the basic Pre-Algebra idea of solving for X. It is sort of weird unless you turn off the sound and ignore the two people on the sides, but otherwise, it is a good game. I found it relatively well made because unlike most of the games I found, it did not repeat itself entirely after the first time you play. That made it the best game I could find. So, enjoy!

Equation Buster and Algebra Jeopardy

Equation Buster and Algebra Jeopardy, both algebra games on online math learning.com, are two games involving solving equations and some basic calculations. Equation Buster is a game where an equation, ranging from easy to challenging, is given to you and you have to go step by step on the computer to solve the equation. I like this game because it involves a lot of algebra and has some challenging questions involving fractions negative numbers, many variables, etc. One downside to this game though is that it is very complicated when you first start to play it. It has four columns saying: Add/Subtract Variable, Add/Subtract, Multiply by, Divide by. Each of these rows has a set of numbers ranging from negative ten to ten. These rows are for what you want to do to both sides of the equations. This confused me at first but I soon figured it out. The only other downside to this game is that it is not as entertaining as some of the other games. There are no high scores, cool animations, or anything that is remotely interesting. If you are looking for a fun game to play this is not the right one for you, but if you want to do some real practice on equations than click the first link above. As for Algebra Jeopardy, it is exactly the opposite. It is fun with a one to two player mode and categories with points ranging from 100 to 500 like actual jeopardy. The Equations range from down right simple to difficult. Although one downside to this game is that the second time you play it the questions are exactly the same. If it were not for twenty-five questions in the first place this would be a bad game. Overall, these are two good games that are worth giving a try.

This game tests and improves many different math skills. It tests fractions, addition and subtraction, percentages, and multiplication and division. I enjoy how you can pick what difficulty level you want. They offer easy medium and hard. Based on you math ability you can choose which one to play on. The point of the game is to answer different questions relating to different math topics and save the penguins. They offer five choices and have timer to increase you ability to do math quickly. It is similar to multiple choice type questions. For each category there are five stages. You have to get the penguins from the different stages onto the same island.

http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities/FractionFour/ I think that this is a good game because it has so many choices to drill you on, whether it be algebra or fractions, this game can help you learn. It also changes constantly, so you will always have a different level. You can set your degree of difficulty and time you have to get the question right, which is good for both veterans and new-comers alike. It is interesting, incorporating the classic "connect 4" game is fun for everyone, learning and beating your friend in a game at the same time. Overall, this is a fun, and well made game definitely worth your time.

From Math Playground comes the Polygon Matching Game,

Give yourself a challenge
http://www.mathplayground.com/matching_shapes.html
.This game seems easy and a bit childish at first, but when you play it, its childish appearance almost mocks you because of its difficulty. The game is composed of twenty hidden blocks. Each block has a polygons name on it or a polygons shape on it, match them all and your done. The greatest part of this game is that you're time and the average personshould get around 1 minute and 20 seconds on their second or third try. The bad part of the game is how long it takes to open and close a block (its not that bad at all). This Matching Gets easier your second time because the only thing they do is put the same polygons in different places.

Do you like Pac Man? Well, if you do? You should try Pac Algebra! On Pac Algebra, you can chose from playing a game with substitution, collecting like terms, or distribution. Each colored ghost has a value. The equation is expressed at the top of the screen and you have to control Pac Algebra to eat the ghost that holds the answer. Don’t eat thePac_Algebra.PNG wrong ghost though! Just like regular Pac Man if you eat the wrong ghost you lose one of your three lives. So, what do you say? Give Pac Algebra a try by just clicking on the link below.

MATH REVIEW GAME

jepardy.JPGThis math jeopardy game gave me a better understanding of measuring, classifying, and forming angles in a concise and fun way. The first time I played this game, I played It with myself. However, after realizing that it was a multiplayer game, I played the game with my family and we had a great time. For me, learning math when your having fun, makes it much easier to comprehend. This jeopardy game not only gives you the questions, but gives you hints on how to do them. For ex:When I didn’t understand or get the question, looking at the angle measure key made the question much simpler. Also, try using it as a study guide. It helped me and I hope it will do the same for you. Good luck!
